Peninsula Classic

This weekend has been one large band fiasco! It's all been very exciting having our first performance at a CK football game on Friday, and our first competition on Saturday. The football game went rather well. Although I do have something to say: marching bands all over the world deserve more respect while performing during halftime. Being yelled at by kids in the stands while trying to perform and entertain is very irritating. Besides, it's just flat out rude and disrespectful. I know many non-band students don't see the hard work we put into our field shows; but we deserve to be treated better than the way we're treated during football games. Thank you for listening to (reading) my rant.
Anyways here are some photos

So all in all the Peninsula Classic was a lot of fun, as well as super exhausting, I slept 14 hours last night.
The Spirit of Silverdale marching band did great. We got a score of 71 during prelims and a score of 72 (I think) for finals. We got the highest score out of all the bands, but weren't able to compete or place because we hosted the competition. I'm so proud of the band. I love being a part of the Spirit of Silverdale Marching Band. A big thank you to all of the parents and other volunteers who helped put on such a fantastic competition. Another thank you to our directors Mr. Woods and Mr.McBirnine as well as our field staff.

Time to catch up!

I haven't posted in such a long time. I've been uber busy with school, band, family, friends and drivers ed. Right now I'm going to catch up on all the stuff that I've meant to post but have been procrastinating.
The other day I was home alone, very bored and still in my PJs.Thank you Pintrest for giving me much inspiration, or, gluing me to my chair in front of  the computer screen. I saw some homemade donuts so I decided to make some donuts! I looked online for the recipe and was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to make. It just called for some basic ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs and vanilla. (Sorry I can't find the recipe that I used)
To fry them I just used a frying pan coated in olive oil (the oil does look pretty nasty in this picture though)
They aren't shaped like normal donuts
I topped them off with cinnamon and sugar. Overall, they weren't that bad. Some of them burnt, setting off the smoke detector. They were a tad dry and kind of tasted like snicker doodle cookies. I took a bite out of the one in the bottom right corner.
While waiting for my mom to come take photos of my outfit, I took advantage of the camera.

My sister wanted to be in the picture, in her pajamas.
 Forever 21 cardigan
H&M animal print shirt
Vigoss jeans from Goodwill (I was really excited about these jeans because they're a really nice brand and were only $20, coming from Goodwill)
Shoes tat I borrowed from my mom :P

Have a great day, everyone!
Thanks,
Mira

First day of school!

Today was the first day of school for my sophomore year of high school. Last night I was freaking out, scrambling to make sure I was completely prepared. I could hardly sleep. Luckily, when I woke up this morning at 5:05am I was quite relaxed and calm. Once I got to school, it didn't feel like the first day of school. Maybe because this is my fourth year in the same school, but it was weird. It was kind of hectic at first, Micah and I were trying to get our schedules changed, but it eventually it sort of settled down. However, I still have to tweak my class schedule; I'm currently in Spanish but I want to take ASL. I was super glad that me, Micah and my other close friends have the same lunch. It was funny because we sat at the same table, in the same spots as we did all last year.

This is what I wore
Blouse: Thrifted
White tank top: Old Naby
Jeans: Thrifted
Shoes: Toms
Headband: Forever 21
The necklace that I have on in these pictures is a necklace that I wear daily. It's kind of like a charm necklace, it has a bunch of random stuff that Micah has given me: a carabiner a heart shaped charm, a key, a Hogwarts pin and a scorpion in a plastic thingy.

School tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the first day of school! I'm going into my sophomore year of highschool. I'm excited but also nervous. I really don't know what to wear tomorrow, I'll be looking on Chictopia for inspiration.
Yesterday I didn't do anything. I woke up around noon, chilled at home, practiced driving with my dad and chilled some more. Anyways, this is what I wore.

Denim shirt: Thrifted
Tank top: Forever 21
Shorts: Forever 21
Shoes: Forever 21

Barbecue with friends

Yesterday my family hosted a barbecue for some of our family friends. It was a lovely time hanging out with our pals.
This is what I wore
Cardigan: Thrifted
Dress: Target
Socks: Betsey Johnson
Oxford flats: Forever 21
At band camp I did a pretty bad job at applying sunscreen evenly. I got sunburned in random places on my legs and shoulders, it doesn't look too good. In the picture above you can kind of see my uneven tan lines on my legs. It's not a super big deal to me, I just hope that by homecoming my tan fades so I don't have such bad tan lines for the dance. I really don't like being tan, I definitely prefer my natural porcelain skin tone. I don't understand all they hype over being tan.

Yesterday in Seattle

Yesterday my family went to Seattle. My grandma is visiting from California so we took her to Seattle for the day to see my cousins who also live in Seattle. My uncle from Japan and his wife have also been visiting. We went to P.F Changs for lunch in Westlake center which is right across from the store Lush. Lush is a super cool bath products store where they sell all natural shampoos, soaps and lotions. Unfortunately,  we didn't get anything because we were kind of in a hurry, but I'll probably buy some stuff off of their online store. We also went to the giant Sephora in Westlake, the H&M and Forever 21. Later we went to Ivars for dinner.
In the Forever 21 there was a silhouette picture with my sister's name on it. My mom tried to buy it but they wouldn't sell it to her.
While out and about a lot of people commented on my hair saying that it's super nice looking. Often I get asked how I do my hair like this, but it's natural so no styling is necessary. Later, I will post a post about the hair products I use and my daily hair routine.
